Aimee Azoulay is a multi-medium visual artist proficient in photography, oil painting, as well as marble sculpture currently based in Panama and Portugal, with over ten years of artistic experience. Her unique international upbringing has inspired her versatility and molded her artistic eye, having been born and raised in California until the age of twelve, then moving to Panama, and traveling to and from Portugal throughout the year while growing up.
She writes, “Whether we are city dwellers or reside along the tide line, humans have an affinity for the ocean. During my artistic progress, I have experimented with many different themes and subjects such as skulls, nature and the human form. However, all of these have naturally come to fall under the theme of the ocean, which is my passion as a surfer. While growing up and being exposed to many different cultures and ideas, the ocean has remained constant in my life. As a result, the theme of the ocean unifies all of these ideas and sources of inspiration; the ocean connects. Unlike countries, the ocean has no visible boundaries.”

Aimee’s work generally shows a consistent oceanic theme and aesthetic in which she focuses on highlighting texture and light in an eternal, sculpture-like manner, whether it be through her photography, painting, or sculpture itself.
